What are we living for? Is there a meaning for life? Are we the ones responsible to give our life meaning? I wanted to hear Ivan Stefanov’s opinion on this, a writer and photographer who runs the inspiring and vivid blog Colourful Life Notes
Luckily I had the chance to collaborate with him, and in this interview he states his thoughts regarding to this complex topic.

Do you think there’s actually somewhat like  a meaning for life? Or do we have to create ourselves a meaningful life?

For me each of us has an individual definition on the meaning of life. For
some it may be love, for others money, for sportsmen – Olympic medals.
But I don’t think the meaning of life should be limited in definitions. There
is no fixed answer, searching for meaning is not like solving mathematical
problems. There is more than one answer. However there are particular ways
we can discover these answers individually.
How can we do this?
Observe nature. Observe humans. Ask yourself who are you, where are you
and what are you doing here. What makes you happy? What makes you
heart go wild? Why?
What makes your life meaningful?
When it comes down to the meaning of my life, I don’t want to
overcomplicate it. I find meaning in developing myself every day. Be it
physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. I believe development itself
can lead to amazing experiences and even reveal the meaning of life. It
certainly did for me. Over the years I realized noble pursuits such as
money and power are simply fake and there is no point in spending our
precious time trying to reach them at any cost. So I searched in myself
only to find out we are all connected and each person on this planet is
worthy of being happy. Therefore what matters for me is to contribute
positively to the lives of others, to inspire and be inspired, to experience
every single aspect of this beautiful wonder called life. I also like travelling
and taking pictures 😀
Why is it so important for you to contribute to this world positively?

I want to contribute to the world positively, because seeing the pain among
us, I think there is need for change more than ever before. When you
realize there is no division between fellow humans and nature you start
escaping your destructive ego and feeling that sense of compassion for
others. You see there is no greater meaning than reaching out for the ones
who suffer and trying to help them with what you’ve got.
What do you do to affect the world positively? Online and in “real life”?
What I’ve got is some wisdom and good intentions and that’s exactly why I
created Colourful Life Notes. In it I put all I have learnt from my experience.
I would be more than happy if it inspires even a single person on this
planet. Because inspiration spreads like fire. Remember that. I also try to
show kindness in my daily interaction with strangers and friends, kindness
spreads too.
Can anybody inspire and effect the world positively?
Absolutely everybody can contribute the world positively. Everybody!
There is no need to learn how to do it or follow a pattern. Just use what
you’ve got and do it. If that’s your job and you are having fun, what more
can you want?
On your blog Colourful Life Notes you’re sharing inspiring motivating content. Where do you get your inspiration from

I get my inspiration from living. It may sound abstract but it’s the truth.
Every day I go through different places with my mind and body. Sometimes
they are sunny and positive, sometimes they are dark and tough. I
experience them fully and extract inspiration from both!
