I feel like though we live in 21th century there are still a lot of people treating mental disorders awkwardly. So let’s just clear some facts:

Just because it isn’t physically visible, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Just like any other physical illnesses, mental illnesses need to be taken care of.
Just because it isn’t life-threatening doesn’t mean there’s no need for serious attention.
There is nothing as being “not-sick-enough” to deserve and need help.
If it is life-threatening it needs intense and professional care, like any other life-threatening illness does.
A mental illness (just like any other illness) doesn’t mean you’re pathetic or weak.
Your mental and physical health come for anything else. Before grades, before degrees, before any achievements.
Your mental health doesn’t define you as a person.
Just because you aren’t at your best doesn’t mean you are not inspiring, kind, positively contagious, beautiful, important, appreciated, and loved.
It is not ugly. It is not embarrassing. It’s not awkward.
It is human, and something that can be healed.
Just as with any other illness, it’s not enough to numb the symptoms to heal the causes of it.
Mental health is not a destination, it’s a journey.
And last but not least, it is not a person’s failure.

Do you feel like there are other aspects that need to be cleared? Then please write them in the comments. Much love x
