Tap Into Your Individual Power

The ability to listen to our inner voice is a useful tool in the pursuit of our dreams and overall fulfilment. Surrendering to our inner wisdom is key when we want to embody our full potential and authenticity. However if not trained well our intuition can be very vague, and it seems way easier to follow other people’s advice or imitate characteristics we admire about them. But how can we tap into our own individual power and live up to our full potential?

I’m sure you experienced this:

You meet a person and are totally captivated by specific character traits of them. Their confidence, their way of expressing themselves, how they address and solve conflicts, individual gifts and talents of them, the way they interfere with others, their charms and looks. At some point in our life we all stumbled across a being that made us gasped yearningly, thinking to ourselves ‘I want to be more like this person’. And it made me wonder, why do we think we need to be more like another person to have the characteristics we admire so much? It’s a belief based on lack mentality to think that what we are looking for can only be found outside, and isn’t already within ourselves. It’s like saying ‘to be the person I want to be I have to be someone else’, and by thinking this way we reject ourselves, and put limits onto the person we are.

See,
I highly believe that every person we encounter is a mirage of ourself. Of the fears, hopes, and dreams, pain, illusions, and love deeply rooted or stuck within us. So when we fall for aspects of their personality, they might as well be aspects of ourself. Unexplored, yet definitely existing. And it’s not necessary to imitate another individual to embrace those qualities as well. Let’s stop thinking about how this other person stands their ground, makes art or communicates their intelligence. Let’s do it in our way. Let’s cultivate the belief that we can include anything we admire about others to our personality, and embody it in our own individual way. Intuitively.

Here’s the deal:
I remember a conversation with a friend a few months ago, who was talking about another friend of her. This girl she was talking about seemed so strong and clear in what she was doing, that my response was a dreamy (and desperate) ‘I wish I was more like her’ (with an undertone of: and less like me). The friend I was talking to replied with a laugh and stated that in some situations she’d also love to have more of this other girl’s qualities, but she was happy being herself. And this was, let’s call it a fresh thought to me, for I couldn’t think of any moment in the previous months that I consciously acknowledged gratefulness for being me. And I asked myself why…
Cultivating unconditional love, appreciation, and trust towards ourselves should be the most natural thing to do every day.

So how did I manage to integrate my intuition more consciously into my every day life?

After this gentle wake up call I started to ask myself how I would do the things I admire about others in my own unique way. I pictured myself doing it in the most me-way. This way I planted the seeds for a new beautiful and strong belief set of being capable to do anything and everything successfully by trusting the person I am, and embodying her intuitively. It sounds so cliche, but all answers really do lie within.

Hope I could convey my thoughts on this clearly and you could get something out of it.
If I helped or inspired you in some way I’m glad and looking forward to see you soon for the next post on HappySoulsClub.
